Give It To Me
That was the voted on theme for the next San Francisco Mixtape Society competition. Seems like a narrow theme but I can work with it, tweak it a bit, and try not to exhibit a flair for the obvious in my song selection. Of course adult beverages will provide some lubrication to the creative process. Ready, steady, go! (That will not be one of the songs I use.)

And so the battle begins...
Number of mini-Reese’s peanut butter cups eaten so far from out one of the office’s ubiquitous plastic pumpkin containers: 2, my resistance: 0. It could be a quick slide into over-sugared hell this afternoon.  Must build stamina.

Oh this old thing?
So this castle was up for auction to the highest bidder back in 2008.  I wonder if anyone bought it. And if they did, would they be willing to throw a fantastic Masque of the Red Death Halloween party there?  Maybe next year?  Because I’d totally take a vacay to Brussels, Belgium for that party.

Emptyage: Generation X Doesn't Want to Hear It →
Earlier generations have weathered recessions, of course; this stall we’re in has the look of something nastier. Social Security and Medicare are going to be diminished, at best. Hours worked are up even as hiring staggers along: Blood from a stone looks to be the normal order of things “going… This has been making the rounds.  Wearily, I found myself nodding and sighing as I read it. ...

So you want to be a clip joint canary...
Sometimes I don’t mind having insomnia (at least not until about midday during work the next day).  Lately it seems TCM is showing a lot of old spooky horror and film noir movies. I think they focus more on old time-y spooky during October because of Halloween and I thank them for it!  (Well, maybe they always show these kinds of movies after 2 a.m., I have no idea.)  I tuned in last...

'Whitney' and 'Up All Night' Get Full Season Pick... →
popculturebrain: You win some, you lose some. I still contest that having Whitney on the air is better than Outsourced. Gee I sure hope they picked up the pervasive laugh track on Whitney for the full season too.

Internal crisis
The hermit side and the social side of  my nature are waging war with each other.  My efforts to appease them using balance is not working very well.  Impasse.
