It's a potato chips for breakfast moment
Because I indulged in a little too much post-holiday cheer last night.
Oof.
My head.

The Year in Comedy Podcasts | Splitsider →
popculturebrain:
Splitsider always has its finger to the pulse of comedy and here they rattle off the most important podcasts around, but I just want to reinforce this for the idea of podcasts.
I try to urge friends and others to tap into this burgeoning medium as its providing hours upon hours of free top-of-line content from the best in the biz. In practically every area of interest. If you...

The Daily: The hackers of tomorrow →
thedailyfeed:
Cybercrime in 2012 is a whole new ballgame.
McAfee, the computer security firm, warns that in 2012, hackers and other cybercriminals will likely take advantage of consumers’ increasing affinity for mobile shopping by targeting smartphone apps that handle financial transactions.
The…
Not an earth-shattering revelation. As the tech world goes, so does the criminal culture.

What does "you get an egg roll either way" even...
Frankie Fane: You a tourist or a native? Kay Bergdahl: Take one from column A and two from column B, you get an egg roll either way. Frankie Fane: [laughing] I have a feeling I’m not gonna get anywhere with you. Kay Bergdahl: All depends, where you’d like to get. Frankie Fane: Mostly I’d like to get alone with you somewhere.

This movie is unintentionally hilarious and I...
Kay Bergdahl: You're wasting your time. I'm not the kind of woman who uses sex as a release or, or even as a weapon.
Frankie Fane: You always talk like that?
Kay Bergdahl: I try.
Frankie Fane: Then do me a favor, will ya, try droppin' it with me, I'm not that smart. You free thinkers confuse me.
Kay Bergdahl: Let me put it this way. I think I have more to offer than just my body.
Frankie Fane: [mocking] Now I understand.
Kay Bergdahl: I am the end result of everything I've ever learned, all I ever hope to be, and all the experiences I've ever had.
Frankie Fane: How many experiences have you had?
Kay Bergdahl: None. But when the right time comes I'll be special for some man. So it's worth waiting for.

Issues with food
I don’t have them. Food is nourishment. It can be indulgent and decadent. It’s an of the moment experience at best. But ye gawds so many people seem to be obsessed with food. I’m not talking about chefs or people in the food-related industries. I’m talking about regular people who seem fixated on talking about what they have eaten, what they intend to eat, posting...

Lazy day after the crazy days
The sense of relief I feel when the stupid xmas holiday is finally over is a pleasure to experience. So much to do today with the holiday off of work (thanks, job!) and yet I’ve lost myself down an internet rabbit hole. Looking up some specific stuff, got sidetracked in oblique directions and spent a couple hours far away from my original intent.
But I loved it. Oh how I loved it. ...

You missed it
So, who’s the David Bowie of 2011 again? Oh. There isn’t one? Okay, well then. Carry on.

I'll have my boozy eggnog at home, thanks.
As I do every year, I RSVP’d no to the firm Xmas party this Friday night. This year they are having it at the Great American Music Hall, one of my fave venues, and I find that fact alarming and awkward. It would be too surreal and I don’t want my future visits to the GAMH to be haunted by the ghosts of firm Xmas parties past.
If I was going to attend, I’d want to go wearing...

Balancing act
So November was quite the busy little month for me. I finished my NaNoWriMo murder mystery novel two days ahead of the Nov. 30th deadline and got validated on the site. Drafts are out to various people for input and editing. I can’t think about it much more right now. It’s all in the waiting and wondering.
The day after I finished the novel, I also worked on, finished and...
