Shaking tails
Last night after work I went to one of my favorite bars for a needed cocktail.  I sat at the bar and was able to observe up close an intensely competitive dude-bro mating ritual.  Both guys were equally attractive and in their 20s. One guy was visiting from Atlanta and the other was a local California boy.  Atlanta guy had on a suit because he was here on business. He had a casual, lazy way...

When real life resembles the movies
Margo Channing: She thinks only of me, doesn't she?
Birdie: Well, let's say she thinks only about you, anyway.
Margo Channing: How do you mean that?
Birdie: I'll tell you how: like... like she's studying you, like you was a play or a book or a set of blueprints - how you walk, talk, eat, think, sleep...

“I would have been stupid not to be part of this project. I have a piece of art...”
– *Bangs head on desk* This is not art, people.  This is some gross inversion of art done solely for the sake of pure consumption. Ugh.  (via curator-of-curiosities) I agree with curator-of-curiosities.  Also?  That project sounds achingly stupid and insipid.

It's starting to look a lot like overkill
for zombies so with any luck all the zombie-concept saturated stuff and the squee-filled or ironic mentions will soon quiet down. Which is a relief since I remain completely disinterested in anything having to do with zombies.  I’m also pretty apathetic about bacon which has been getting the squee treatment for years now as a sort of backlash, I’m guessing, to the more sanctimonious...

“My fantasies are unloved histories.”

Anger, angst and autonomy
I’m having issues with rage and frustration lately.  I’m repressing expression of those for strategic reasons but the build up is pressurizing inside of me and causing anxiety and depression.  There are specific reasons for and circumstances causing the rage and frustration but they cannot be dealt with directly.  They need to be circumvented or in other cases, out-manuevered.   Sigh....

Tuesday
It seems a lot of people do “Taco Tuesdays” which is nice, I guess.  I’m thinking more along the lines of Martini Tuesdays for tonight. Not just martinis.  Troubletinis.  Happy hour, ahoy!

Hair flowers
The flower perched in the hair, resting slightly askew by one ear in an attempt to add just a little bit of feminine whimsy to a vintage pinup girl look is really played out. Yet still it persists. Stop it already!

Anne Bachelier
I love her artistic works.  They put me in the mood for attending masquerades during the cold and dark of wintertime.  (I guess I’m pretty over summer by now.)

Misfortunes of the Immortals
This would be a great title, theme and flyer design for an autumn or winter masquerade ball in a decaying but still opulent mansion in the woods.  Can someone please get on that?

Melancholia
I’m all melancholy of late, longing to make a big move or change in my life.  This is highlighted by a strong pining for living in an area that experiences true fall and winter weather.  To live and be a part of the entire wheel of shifting seasons.  This is not due to being overwhelmed by summer heat either.  It’s not even that warm in San Francisco at present!  I’ve been happy...
