Disinclination
Yeah. I got nothing today.  No music, no links, no phewtews or videos.  I have a couple creative projects I need to get working on but my will is weak today. Any entertaining new hate-reading material out there besides The Bachelor recaps and Lana Del Rey melodrama?

Procrastinatory urges
I’m supposed to be editing, refining and reworking my NaNoWriMo mystery novel right now because I have 30,000 or so more words to add to make it the acceptable length.  I’m allowing myself one half hour more to fuck around on the internet so please, no one post anything interesting, witty, pertinent or silly for the next 45 minutes. Thanks!

“Sex bomb baby, yeah!”
– (and so on for 10 minutes and 24 seconds, ha!)  Flipper via Sex Bomb.  One of the first punk/alternative albums I bought in 1982 was Generic Flipper.

Feeling wanderlust-y? →
This is from a few days ago but I keep going back and checking through the discussions in comments.  So many good tales and suggestions!  I love traveling with friends but in the last year I’ve been craving taking off on my own. Not having to coordinate vacation schedules or plan days and nights once at the destination.  Free to wander and adventure.  Maybe not this year as I have a few...

The chasm
Today is one of those days where I’m feeling pushed aside by life.  The passing of time and the aging process factor into that feeling of being pushed. But today is also one of those times when it doesn’t bother me to feel that way. Today I gladly feel like stepping aside and letting it all go by the wayside.  The race to keep up with, well, everything.  The 24 hour information cycle.  What’s...

The truth is out there...
I fell into a conspiracy theory website rabbit hole and may not make it out for hours. There are people “out there” that have a lot of time on their hands.  And worry space in their heads. (Is putting quote marks around “out there” in the above sentence a sign that I’m starting to be adversely influenced?) I’ve just been reading over an Illuminati-paranoia...

Fancy fun →
“The first night of back-to-back Regency Ballroom events, The Edwardian World’s Faire presents a Gorey-inspired night of music, theatrics, circus, fashion, gaming, and Edwardian-tinged rock n’ roll. A little more rambunctious than the Saturday night Ball, The Faire presents an interactive night of Barbary-themed Midway Games…” I’m dressing cancan girl tonight and...

The beauty of succulent illusions
“I learned a little of beauty—enough to know that it had nothing to do with truth—and I found, moreover, that there was no great literary tradition; there was only the tradition of the eventful death of every literary tradition…. Then I grew up, and the beauty of succulent illusions fell away from me.  The fibre of my mind coarsened and my ears grew miserably keen.  Life rose around...

Oh Etta
So sad to read about the passing of Etta James.  She was up next on my rainy day  music indulgence.
